Arc Raiders is a pretty balanced experience overall with weapons, shields, and skills that have clearly gone through a rigorous testing process ahead of launch.

However, one trait that fell through the cracks a little is Security Breach, which those who have been sinking their whole life into the Arc Raiders grind have acquired and taken advantage of.

Embark Studios has sniffed this out, and a nerf has been imposed, sparking outrage from those who have sunk all of their skill points in the Survival tree to earn it.

Arc Raiders players aren’t happy Security Breach has been nerfed

Like most nerfs that come into effect, no matter what game it is, it has been met with pushback.

A lot of this has to do with the reduction of loot, with many under the impression that it simply won’t be worth the effort to do security lockers. There is a significant time investment that is required to unlock the ability to crack them, too, so why would you pump points into the skill tree?

The vast majority are now calling for a respec function, allowing them to readjust their choices, potentially maxing out the Mobility instead to get the latter skills. Whether this function gets brought in remains to be seen, but we think Embark will stick to its guns on this one.

The Security Breach changes seem to make things more balanced

For those of you out there who have taken serious offence to the Security Breach nerf, we believe that it’s not only that big of a downgrade, but it should make for a better experience overall.

Let’s face it, the Security Breach was way too overpowered. Players were getting a plethora of Epics and Legendaries every raid, even with free loadouts, making things far too easy whether you’re running solos, duos, or trios. You could spend about five minutes topside and come out with as much loot as ten runs worth.

Now the nerf is in full effect, the number of Epics and Legendaries has dropped, but they’re still there in abundance, especially if you take the time to hunt out the more hard-to-reach lockers.

Yes, you’ll likely be returning to Speranza with more blues than yellows ,but it is definitely for the greater good in the long term.
