The mysterious countdown was not for a Fallout 3 remaster, and we are crushed
In some of the most anti-climactic news that we will get all year, it turns out that the timer on the Fallout Season 2 website was not to announce the pending release of a Fallout 3 remaster. Instead, it was for a behind-the-scenes tour of the TV series.
Last month, a countdown appeared on the Fallout Explorer website in the form of a map. The map included various locations that, once clicked, led to behind-the-scenes insights about the second series of the TV show adaptation of the storied video game franchise.
What really got us excited, however, was that there was a locked point of interest that was going to be revealed the day that the season finale came out.
This got us, and many others, optimistic was that the series finale and that locked point of interest would also bring about the official announcement of a Fallout 3 remaster, nearly three years after it was leaked to be in development. We definitely did not want more of a look at the sets and actors behind the hit series…
However, it was even more of a behind-the-scenes look as we were “treated” to a feature about The Penthouse at the Lucky 38 casino, the lair of the series’ antagonist, Mr. House.
So when is the Fallout 3 remaster coming out?
With remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas reportedly in development, we are hoping that at least one of them will get an announcement date soon.
But as shown with the recent update for Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda will take their time when developing their games, ensuring the smoothest rollout possible.
With it being more than 7 years since the latest instalment in the series, Fallout 76, fans are desperate to jump back into The Wasteland. But quality over quantity may be the best course of action.
