Signs are pointing to an imminent Fallout 3 remaster, and we’re hyped
While we haven’t had a sequential Fallout game in ten years, we have been treated to the ever-expanding Fallout 76, and even a live-action show to fill that wasteland-shaped hole.
With Season 2 of the Prime Video series underway, you might be clambering for a little bit of classic Fallout action, and what if we told you there may be a Fallout 3 Remaster on its way, potentially as soon as February…
We might get a Fallout 3 Remaster at the start of February
Those of you who have been watching the Fallout show know that this season is centered around antics in New Vegas, rather than the retro-futuristic Washington, D.C. of Fallout 3. However, a remaster of the third installment has been heavily rumored for some time now, and when you combine this with a suspicious countdown on the Prime Video website, we could be in for a nice surprise.
The timer for this countdown subsides on February 4, 2026, which does coincide with the finale of Fallout Season 2. Episodes come out weekly, so it’s not like you need a countdown for when the show ends, which says to us that there must be some form of additional announcement tied to the date.
Bethesda has got recent form for some shadow dropping antics, thanks to the Oblivion remaster that graced us with its glorious presence back in April 2025. This, combined with player counts of both Fallout 4 and 76 climbing because of the show, it almost seems to be a perfect storm for a Fallout 3 remaster to launch.
While we may be blowing a simple countdown way out of proportion and setting everyone up for disappointment, there is concrete evidence that it was, or is in deep development, thanks to Microsoft court documents.
These suggest it was slated for 2024, so it may have just needed more time to cook in the oven (like The Elder Scrolls 6), and February 2026 is when we’ll be able to listen to Galaxy New Radio’s Three Dog once again.
