Fable has early access, only if you’re willing to pay for it
Playground Games’ upcoming Fable reboot was unfortunately pushed to February 23, 2027, but if you want to start your adventure in Albion a little ahead of everyone else, there is a legitimate way to do it, without that ol’ New Zealand trick most like to employ.
Yes, there is early access available, but as you might have expected, you will have to drop extra cash on a pricier copy of the game in order to secure the goods.
How to get Fable early access
There’s a whopping five days of Fable early access on the table if you’re eager to dive into the game before others.
It is unfortunately tied to the Premium and Collector’s Editions of the game, which are naturally more expensive than the Standard variant, and don’t come with a Game Pass subscription.
However, if you are planning to play via Game Pass, you’re not locked out, since you’re able to purchase a Premium Upgrade to net the all-important early access window.
There’s also a bunch of other benefits that come with the Premium Edition of Fable, including additional outfits, and probably most importantly, an already announced expansion called Order of the Hero.
These, along with being able to play five days early, might justify the increased cost, especially if you’re planning on sinking hundreds of hours in.
Don’t forget about pre-order bonuses
Obviously, if you are opting to pay the extra to secure early access to Fable, you’ll also net pre-order bonuses.
The first of these is the “questionably heroic” Chicken Suit for your character, which has been shown off in early trailers and might get you a few funny looks as you wander around Albion.
You’ll also secure a handful of in-game Gifts in the form of a Wild Flower Bouquet, Toy Chicken, and Scones & Jam Picnic Hamper, which will probably help you in your adventure.
