Here are the Windrose system requirements so you can plunder without stutters

There’s huge hype around Windrose, with a real sense that everyone wants the title to succeed since it mashes a hugely popular genre with a setting that so many want to explore.

If you’re excited to start living as a pirate, taking on other crews, and squabbling for the spoils, you’ll want to know your PC up to scratch to actually run the game.

Let’s dig into what hardware your system needs to have so the winds don’t get taken out of your sails when you go to install.

What are the Windrose system requirements?

Before we reveal the Windrose system requirements, we want to preface these by saying that the game is only in an Early Access state.

This definitely influences how much power your PC will need, and come the time 1.0 rolls around, we’re sure the game will be much more streamlined, thus easier to run.

Windrose minimum system requirements

• OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
• CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
• RAM: 16 GB
• GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6800
• DirectX: Version 12
• Storage: 30 GB

As you can see, the minimum requirements aren’t too hefty considering Windrose is in Early Access. Something to note though is that the developers have stated that the “minimum RAM requirements apply to solo and co-op play,” and if you want to boot up a self-hosted server, “additional RAM will be required.”

Moreover, while an SSD isn’t explicitly required, it is “strongly recommended.” So, basically, get an SSD; otherwise, those load times are going to be as rough as the seas you’re sailing on…

• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3080 / AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT

The recommended requirements for Windrose definitely up the ante, especially in the RAM department, suggesting that you’ll need a whopping 32 GB. This doesn’t even consider the self-hosting aspect we touched on earlier.

But, as previously mentioned, all of this is subject to change and will likely be reduced come the time of the official launch, especially if console versions are on the cards.
