When you’re starting out in Windrose, you’ll likely want to return to the high seas as soon as possible, commanding a ship that’s actually pirate-worthy.

There are a few different ships in the game, each with different strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to make a tactical choice on which you want to go with.

Let’s get into what ships have made the cut in Windrose Early Access, so you can get to securing enough resources for building them.

All ships in Windrose Early Access

Aside from the lowly Raft or Boat, as previously mentioned, there are a few different ship types you can captain in Windrose during Early Access.

These are the Ketch, Brigantine, and Frigate, building in size and power as you go along.

The Ketch will naturally be the first one you encounter during the main quests, but you’ll need to progress pretty deep into the Early Access experience for the other two. This is because you’ll need Brethren Provisioner Level 2 and Brethren Provisioner Level 4, respectively, to unlock the designs for crafting.

Within the three ships are three variants of each, also adding in different parameters such as health, speed, and the number of cannons available to shoot.

The three choices are Stock, Brethren, and Blackbeard, and interestingly, at this moment in time, the amount of resources required for each option doesn’t change, meaning that the choice is purely down to your personal preference.

When Windrose does come out of Early Access, or even earlier than that, the number of different ships that will become available will increase.

We’ve already seen that there will probably be the likes of Cutter, Merchant, or even Galleon, if the cheats that could be previously input are to be believed. There may be tweaks as development progresses, but we’re sure it won’t change too much.
