skygate zero steam page launch

Indie developer Lucky Ghost has officially opened the Steam store page for Skygate Zero, giving you your first chance to Wishlist the skate-inspired action-adventure ahead of its release.

The announcement comes just in time for Gamescom 2026, where Skygate Zero will also make its playable debut as part of the Indie Arena Booth from August 26-30.

Skygate Zero is set on a stylized, flooded future Earth, where it puts you aboard a customizable Glideboard. To put it simply, it takes skateboarding mechanics and throws them into a post-apocalyptic adventure.

Rather than simply walking from A to B, you’ll be riding, grinding, wallriding, and boosting your way across abandoned locations known as Spots, which are described as remnants of the world we know today.

There’s more to worry about than landing your next trick, though. Goo-based enemies and other remnants of the old world will stand in your way, with you needing to smash through them while gathering Scrap and Shards along the way.

You’ll also uncover Chips that can unlock new abilities or completely change how the Glideboard handles. Interestingly, you’re free to strip them all away again if you’d rather keep things simple.

Naturally, there’s plenty of customization too, with stickers and outfits scattered throughout the world alongside tougher “Never-Been-Done” challenges designed to test exactly what you can pull off on the board.

And, because apparently regular golf wasn’t hard enough, Skygate Zero will also let you play golf on a Glideboard. We’re not entirely sure what that looks like yet, but it certainly sounds like the sort of side activity capable of becoming a real time sink.

If you’re lucky enough to be attending Gamescom, you can try Skygate Zero for yourself at the Indie Arena Booth in Hall 10.2, with Lucky Ghost appearing as part of the Northern Ireland Screen delegation.
