Plans being made for Rendezvous on PC

This last couple years have terrible in many respects, but if indie developer Pendopo Studio's upcoming side-scroller Rendezvous is any indication, the future isn't all it's cracked up to be either (though in the latter case, that's very much intentionally so).

The game stars a man named Setyo, a former agent who is trying to settle down as a security guard in the year 2064 after leaving his action-packed job in Jakarta. But trouble finds Setyo once again when an investigation links his sister to a terrorist organization. And so Setyo is forced to leave the quiet life behind and head back to Indonesia to find his sister somewhere in the “dystopian futuristic city of Neo-Surabaya.”

Rendezvous is a keyboard-controlled, side-scrolling pixel art adventure that largely sees players doing typical adventure game things: explore the environment, find items and clues, talk to other characters, and solve a variety of puzzles along the way. But as an ex-agent used to dealing with danger, you'll also need to engage in some light stealth and combat. Whenever an option is available, you can choose whether to “sneak around the enemies or upright confront them with the weapons you have.”

There is no release date scheduled for Rendezvous just yet, but while waiting for the complete version to launch on Steam for Windows PC, you can check out the playable prologue available now on itch.io, in which the protagonist finds himself drawn back into a life he thought he'd left behind.
