It’s almost time for when we can sink our teeth into another Resident Evil masterstroke from Capcom, and the fact that Leon is back for one more round is only building the hype.

While we’ve seen some gameplay of the upcoming thriller, Nvidia has given us a further look at what’s in store graphically, as well as a potential sneak peek at some open-world elements you might not have expected.

Resident Evil Requiem Nvidia trailer shows off city gameplay

Obviously, if there’s a new trailer from a company like Nvidia, that means you’re getting a deeper look at what kind of graphics you’re going to be getting from the new Resident Evil experience.

While there are pretty reflections and spooky shadows, it is the snippet of Grace Ashcroft walking outside in the city streets that caught our eye.

What we’ve seen so far has been very interior-based gameplay with Grace walking through halls and encountering some pretty terrifying creatures.

In the Leon reveal showcased at The Game Awards, there was a small look at some rainy back alleys, but nothing like the potential of city exploration included in the new Nvidia snippet.

While we know there isn’t going to be a fully-fledged open world, since that idea was canned a long time ago, there may have been assets already planned/made that could have had a tweaking to fit into more ‘open’ exploration areas.

Or, what’s even more plausible is that since Grace is an FBI analyst, there are some breaks in the intense ‘horror’ allowing for actual investigation to take place. Who knows, when you switch over to Leon, you may even be able to get some driving going in his fancy sports car.

Regardless, with RE9 releasing shortly, we’ll all be enjoying what Capcom has cooked up this time around for both protagonists, old and new.
