According to leaks, the iconic Tomb Raider 1 is set to be completely remade under the title Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and it will be revealed at The Game Awards this evening.

Geoff Keighley already stated that a reveal for the latest instalment in the franchise is due to be shown at the annual awards show, but it seems that eagle-eyed fans have already found out what the new game is.

X user JesuisJanice posted an image of what the main character of the series, Lara Croft, looks like in the trailer.

The leak gained infinitely more validation by the fact that Crystal Dynamics is apparently taking down posts featuring this screenshot, among others, in Tomb Raider forums

User NeoRaider on the internet’s premier gaming forum ResetEra is also believed to have leaked the game’s cover art, shown via X user PlayVerso.

Fans believe that the cover art has to be real, as the pose Croft is making on the cover matches the one that is on that aforementioned The Game Awards post.

Though the Tomb Raider franchise has not had a new instalment since 2018, it has seen a recent renaissance in interest.

Crystal Dynamics’ decision to remaster the first three Tomb Raider games saw hundreds of thousands of copies sold, nearly 30 years after the release of the first Tomb Raider game, with fans being reminded of why they fell in love with the series to begin with.

When will the next Tomb Raider be revealed?

The reveal is set to take place during the annual The Game Awards ceremony on December 11th, held at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

The show is set to begin at 7:30 PM EST (12:30 AM GMT) and is free to watch on all major digital, social, and gaming platforms.
