It looks like you’ll be waiting until 2027 for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet’s release

Naughty Dog titles have been pretty stellar experiences, no matter if you go all the way back to platforming in Crash Bandicoot, or dive into the rich post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us.

That means the hype for the studio’s next title — Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet — is extremely high but with only one trailer to go off, fans have been chomping at the bit for any new information.

What we bring you today, however, is bad news, with recent reports stating that not only will Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet not be that at The Game Awards 2025, it will be at least 2027 until the game launches.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will reportedly not be shown at The Game Awards

There’s no question that good ol’ Geoff Keighley loves to drop an exclusive ‘one more thing’ at whatever event he is hosting, but it’s very much looking like Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will not be at The Game Awards this year.

This news comes from Jeff Grubb, who, if you’re not familiar with his reporting, is a solid source on all things video games.

He noted in a response to a misquote from Colin Moriarty that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet “will not be shown,” despite it being revealed one year ago at the very same event.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will also not be a 2026 release

In a follow-up to Grubb’s announcement about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet skipping TGA 2025, he then went on to suggest that the post “caused people” to tell him the further disappointing info of the game not launching in 2026.

This was corroborated by the always reliable Jason Schreier who flat out stated that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet “is not coming out in 2026.”

What this could mean is the game may be a PS6 launch title, if the rumors are true that Sony will be releasing refreshed hardware in 2027.

It would make sense to have a game of this caliber be the poster child for a new console, enticing people to buy it if they want to experience Naughty Dog’s next masterpiece in all its glory.
