If you’re looking to emote in Nioh 3, here’s what you need to do
The Nioh franchise is a brutal affair as you slash through a plethora of increasingly difficult monsters, and Nioh 3 is no different.
If you manage to pull off a big boss battle win as your custom samurai and fancy celebrating or want to access some sneaky secret areas, you can throw an emote out there akin to that of previous Nioh titles.
If you’re not sure how to emote in Nioh 3, though, here’s what you need to do to throw some shapes.
How to emote in Nioh 3
To get an emote going in Nioh 3, you’ll need to either hold R1 and then press the Options button on PS5, or simply press the G key on your keyboard if playing on PC. Upon doing so will open up the emote menu where you are free to select whatever emotes you have available.
As previously alluded to, emoting in Nioh 3 can be done to show off or actually used to open secret walls/doors, also known as Nurikabe. You’ll know when you’ve reached one of these as they’ll have eyes staring at you.
However, do be warned, if you don’t use the correct emote that the door wants, you’ll be faced with another enemy to take on to try and secure the spoils that lie in wait.
The trick to knowing which emote to use is by looking for a dead body near the secret entrance. You should pick a different colored emote than that of the body and you will be bowed to by the monster within the wall.
Now, if you’ve taken a look at other gameplay online and seen that someone has got a bunch more emotes than yourself, you can pick additional ones up at the Hidden Teahouse in the Eternal Rift.
This isn’t immediately available, though, so you’re not going mad if you don’t have this unlocked yet in your playthrough.
