Is Halo: Campaign Evolved on Game Pass, or are you going to have to pay to play the remake?
Halo: Campaign Evolved is really bringing 2001 vibes into 2026, albeit with an extremely shiny, fresh lick of paint, allowing everyone who wasn’t around the first time around to experience peak gaming.
What also wasn’t up and running back in the day were digital game subscriptions, allowing those who want to play as many games as possible without having to buy them all, the opportunity to do so.
So, those of you out there who want to play Halo: Campaign Evolved and were hoping it is on Game Pass, we’ve got the info.
Is Halo: Campaign Evolved coming to Game Pass?
The short answer you came here for is yes, Halo: Campaign Evolved is coming to Game Pass on day one.
This means those of you with an active Game Pass subscription at the time will be able to play the remake when it launches, without needing to purchase the full game separately.
Since Halo has long been one of Xbox’s flagship franchises, this isn’t exactly the biggest shock in the world, but it’s still welcome news for anyone who wants to dive in without paying full price upfront.
However, there is one important thing to keep in mind. While Game Pass gets you access to Halo: Campaign Evolved at launch, it doesn’t mean you’ll get early access.
If you’re eager to play before the full July 28, 2026, launch date, you will need to look at pre-ordering the Premium Edition, which offers early access from July 23, amongst other solid benefits.
You can always just purchase the Premium Edition Upgrade to do so, however, meaning you won’t have to shell out the entire cost of the fully-fledged version, and still have early access.
As for you PlayStation owners who might be entering the Halo franchise for the first time, it is very unlikely that it is coming to PlayStation Plus anytime soon. Possibly a couple of years later down the line, but even that might be a push.
