gta 6 possibly delayed again

In what feels like yet another case of déjà vu, GTA 6 is reportedly not “content complete,” and there is a chance it will not make the already double-delayed November 2026 release date.

We’re sure you’re almost bored of hearing about GTA 6 delays at this point, with Rockstar taking its sweet time in creating what is going to be one of the games of the decade. Unfortunately, which decade it’s going to release is shockingly a question you might still be asking yourself.

Insider sceptical about how finished GTA 6 is

This new revelation comes from the always reliable Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who stated on a The Ringer-Verse podcast episode that the last heard from the situation, GTA 6 was “still not content complete”.

He went on to expand on this, suggesting “people were still finishing things up, so finalizing levels and missions and seeing what’s going to make it into the game,” meaning they might not even be at the bug-fixing stage yet.

With a game of GTA 6’s size, this could take some serious time. Not to mention that Rockstar is a perfectionist somewhat, when it comes to this stuff, so it will likely go through even more rigorous QA testing than your more run-of-the-mill titles.

Compounding this is how high the stakes are that GTA 6 launches as an experience for the ages. Schreier noted that “the entire stock of Take-Two lives and dies on this game,” so it simply has to be ‘perfect’ otherwise you can kiss goodbye to a GTA 7 in your lifetime.

All hope is not lost for GTA 6’s November launch

While all of this has been said by Schreier, he does also believe the November 2026 release date feels “a little bit more real than Fall 2025 did, and even more real than May.”

The wording doesn’t inspire a whole lot of confidence, but at least he is under the impression there is some form of commitment to this date, and wasn’t just thrown out there like the other two seemingly were.

There will be a juicy Take-Two earnings call coming up in February, where we might be able to extract information on any potential further delay, but until then, we will have to settle for Schreier’s insider knowledge.
