Bye Sweet Carole: A Glimpse Into The Animated Horror
Bye Sweet Carole, a classic-animated horror game developed by Little Sewing Machine, has unveiled its first gameplay footage. Initially showcased at an exclusive closed-door event at Gamescom 2023, the footage was released in collaboration with Just For Games and Meangrip Studios. The early footage provides a tantalizing glimpse into the game's mechanics, setting, and ambiance. You can watch the gameplay footage here:
Set in the early 1900s, Bye Sweet Carole follows young Lana Benton, who finds herself catapulted into a mysterious enchanted garden filled with menacing and disturbing creatures. The game features a hand-drawn universe inspired by the greatest animated movies, and the gameplay mechanics include the ability for Lana to transform into a rabbit, interacting with other rabbits and using this form to escape tricky situations. The game also introduces Lana's best friend, Mr. Baesie, who possesses both offensive capabilities and the ability to morph into a smaller version of himself.
The developers noted that this early footage does not represent the final product release quality, with definitive assets and voice acting in both Italian and English to be added at a later date. They also shared an interesting tidbit: over 70,000 individual handmade frames have been created for in-game Lana's animation.
Bye Sweet Carole promises to take players on a horrific journey through a dark tale set in the mesmerizing world of Corolla, filled with a vibrant cast of characters and deadly challenges. The game is inspired by the greatest animation movies and created by Chris Darril, known for the Remothered series.
The game is set for a 2024 release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. It will be available for purchase on Steam.
