Black Desert launches new Agent class alongside huge progression and tech updates
Pearl Abyss has launched Agent, the 32nd playable class in Black Desert, alongside a hefty batch of progression, content and technical updates for the long-running MMORPG.
Available today, July 30, Agent is a male secret operative and the younger brother of Deadeye, who joined the game’s roster in 2024. While both characters use revolvers, Agent packs a larger-caliber firearm and can call upon his secondary weapon, Hexround, for supporting fire and enhanced physical attacks.
His combat style is flashy and fast-paced, allowing you to quickly dart into danger before disappearing just as rapidly. Blink provides swift movement in and out of combat, while Mozambique Drill takes inspiration from real-world tactical shooting techniques.
Agent’s arrival is joined by HYPERBOOST, a new progression programme intended to help new and returning Adventurers reach a combined Attack Power and Defense Power score of 730.
By graduating a Season character, working through Olvia Academy and completing designated objectives, you can earn resources needed to craft three Sovereign Weapons, six PEN (V) Kharazad accessories, four pieces of Slumbering Origin gear, and two Inverted Hearts of Garmoth.
Pearl Abyss has also detailed Edania Part 2, which will expand the existing region and bring together major lore figures including Elion, Agris and Aal. The storyline is set to conclude the first major saga of Black Desert’s overarching narrative.
The rollout begins with a new Sulfur Golem monster zone next week, followed by additional Edania Part 2 regions, bosses and items on August 13. Its main quests are planned to arrive in September.
Two new accessory types are also on the way. Ekleta accessories can be upgraded from existing Kharazad gear, while Apeiron accessories can be crafted independently and traded through the Central Market.
Elsewhere, Instant Character Swap will let you switch between family characters without extra loading screens. Family Dispatch will also allow alternate characters to perform activities such as fishing, gathering and processing to generate additional income.
Black Desert’s graphics technology is receiving some attention too, with DirectX 12, AMD FSR 3.1 and NVIDIA DLSS support planned across August and September. Future updates include Marni’s Combat Analyzer, the Ferrica mount, new ship equipment and a redesigned levelling system.
