Amanda the Adventurer 2: Unleashing Terror on Steam Next Fest
The highly anticipated sequel to last year's viral horror game, Amanda The Adventurer, is set to make a grand entrance with its first playable demo launching today as part of Steam Next Fest. The developers at MANGLEDmaw Games and publisher DreadXP have released a spine-chilling teaser for the game, which can be viewed here:
Amanda the Adventurer 2 follows the story of Riley Park who, after discovering mysterious tapes in their attic, embarks on a quest to the Kensdale Public Library for further investigation. Upon arrival, they encounter a masked figure claiming to have known their Aunt Kate before her death, and who needs their help in finding something she left behind in the library. However, a powerful entity seems to be drawn to the tapes. Meanwhile, Amanda becomes aware of Riley's presence and is doing everything she can to free herself. The stakes are high as it's not just Amanda looking for Riley, but also other sinister forces.
The demo is now available on Steam and is expected to provide fans with plenty of material to analyze and theorize about while waiting for the full game. It promises to expand the lore-heavy world of Amanda in unexpected ways.
Amanda the Adventurer 2 brings back interactive cartoon-style gameplay, where your input significantly impacts the game world. It introduces a new interaction type, “GET UP!”, encouraging players to explore the environment to find items requested by Amanda and see her responses. The game also features a new area, the Kensdale Public Library, boasting a larger environment filled with secrets and lore. New characters join the fray, ensuring neither Riley nor Amanda will be alone on their adventures. The game promises to delve deeper into the story of Amanda, Riley, and Aunt Kate, unraveling a horrifying history.
