You can get a free Alpha Charizard in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, here’s how

The Pokemon Legends: Z-A train just keeps going with more new content being added to the game.

We’ve already seen the likes of Mewtwo thrown into the mix, ready for you to battle and catch, and now, you have the chance to pick up an Alpha Charizard to add to your party.

It’s actually surprisingly easy to net one of, if not the most loved Pokemon in the franchise, and it’ll be an enhanced version at that.

How to get Alpha Charizard in Pokemon Legends: Z-A for free

Akin to the aforementioned Mewtwo that was introduced not so long ago, you will have to utilize the Mystery Gift function to acquire the free Alpha Charizard in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Open up your copy of Pokemon Legends: Z-A and head to the menu. In here, you will be able to see the Link Play option at the bottom of your screen.

Open up Link Play, and there should be a Mystery Gift tile you can click on. In this next screen, you have three options: Get via Internet, Get with Code/Password, and Check Mystery Gifts.

We’ll be going for the Get with Code/Password to pick up your Alpha Charizard. The code you need to enter is B1G0006, and once everything is confirmed, you’ll add it to your collection.

The Alpha Charizard you receive comes in at level 36, but what makes it special is that it will know Solar Beam, something that isn’t usually possible from leveling up a caught Charizard.

Something to note here is that the Mystery Gift function is only available once you’ve completed the A New Life in Lumiose City main mission. This is only the third main mission in the game, though, so you’ve likely boxed it off by now.

Additionally, you only have until January 19, 2026, to use the aforementioned code, so make sure you pick up this free Charizard before it flies off into the aether forever.
