Stunning hand-painted VR adventure My Monsters is finally out on Quest and PC

We don’t get to cover too many VR adventure games as the system tends to be slammed with Beat Saber clones or Job Simulator nonsense, so we got a little bit giddy at the news that my Monsters is out today and gives us a glorious hand-painted world to explore.

Developed by Ludact, a Brazilian veteran game studio founded in 2005 that has worked with Sesame Workshop, Cartoon Network, UNESCO, and Volkswagen Foundation, amongst others, the game is also available on PC via Steam.

The devs describe My Monsters thus: “In My Monsters, players are cast as a Traveller and control their monster-like companion, Moti, from a third-person perspective. Together you’ll journey across the fantastical realm of Onirium, defeating enemies in combat, overcoming obstacles with platforming, and solving puzzles. As you progress, Moti will face the forces of Anxiety, Fear, and Loneliness and learn to overcome personal conflict in an emotional narrative. “Every asset you see in the game, from the sweeping landscapes to Moti himself, has been hand-painted in the Quill VR software. The result is a world unlike any other in VR.”
