Take on the role of Death and his piggy friend in Spindle

We do like to try and showcase some different things here at Adventure Gamers, and while we love a good point and click puzzler as much as everybody, occasionally a game that leans more into he action-adventure realm piques our interest enough to dig a little deeper.

One such game is Spindle from Deck13. This handcrafted game has been in development since 2018 (not much has happened in those intervening years, really, has it?), and the devs say “each and every pixel has gone through multiple iterations.”

The team’s strive for perfection is now finally coming to an end as Spindle is as close to their vision as possible. And, the new Release Window Teaser demonstrates that the arrival of Spindle is indeed getting closer.

In Spindle, you play as Death, but that’s not as miserable as it sounds, as you have a cute little piggy friend to keep you company as you get busy with the old sycthe.

Deck 13 is based in Berlin and made up of Tom, Kim and Felix, and Spindle, as we said, has been their labor of love for the past seven years or so.

Even though the launch is getting close now, there is no definitive date as yet. On Steam, it is listed as Coming Soon, but Deck13 says it will be available in ***ber 2025, so it looks like it’s slated for Q4. There is a demo you can grab from Steam in the meantime, and it will also be available on Nintendo Switch. Check it out
