Sci-fi adventure game BatteryNote releases today on Steam
We do love an interesting sounding adventure here at AG towers, and to be honest, it was the quirky screenshots that caught our attention first up when it comes to the new sci-fi adventure BatteryNote. room6 is the publisher behind it, and they describe it as follows: “Waking from a cold sleep, you, a failed mechanic, come face to face with three broken robots. Recharge the robots within the dimly-lit maintenance room and restore them to life. After that, you can probe their memories through dialogue or simply hit them with a high-voltage current and observe their reactions. However, their batteries will only last a short time. How you choose to spend their remaining moments is entirely in your hands.”
So we have an adventure that needs to recharge these little metal buddies and bring them to life, and interact with them to generate different endings. It also sounds very unique, “Once you’ve selected one of the three robots, spend the allotted time enjoying conversation with it or running power through it. The robot’s reactions change depending on whether you treat it with kindness or cruelty. Your decisions may affect not only the robot’s fate, but also what ending you come to. Play through the scenes over and over to see all the endings that can occur, or simply focus on making the robots happy. With the charging plug and switch in hand, you have the power to determine your future.
We are keen to give this a go, and if you are too, there is a demo on Steam, or you can buy the whole thing for around $10.
BatteryNote characters
A proud soldier that dedicated its existence to battle. It seems to be uneasy about being here when it should by all rights have been blown up on the battlefield. The truth is…
A surveillance robot that once worked in an office. Slightly (?) lecherous, but very friendly. Behind its carefree demeanour lies a past impossible for it to forget.
