What is Blessed be the Chamber?

The Blessed be the Chamber game kicks off with the protagonist joining a cult, and naturally, you must prove your faith and devotion to the cult by playing Russian roulette and climbing through six ranks. How did you get here? Who knows, but to make it to the top with your life, you must shoot yourself with a loaded revolver a set number of times per rank. Luck plays a huge part in your survival, but there are items you can acquire to sway the odds in your favor.

A Blessed be the Chamber roguelike run begins with you loading the revolver with the assigned number of bullets, and you can then begin shooting. In between shots, you can spin the chamber if you think the next shot will be a live bullet. 

Important Blessed be the Chamber features to keep tabs on are your combo, which is how many shots you have survived in a row. Your combo resets when you lose health or when you spin the cylinder, but keeping it alive can come in handy when you’re stacking synergies. Your health is also shown through red shields, of which you begin with just three. Each live shot reduces your health by one shield, and it’s game over if you have no shield remaining. As you progress, you will also earn coins that are used to buy items, or can also be thrown into a fountain to be carried over to your next run.

After the successful completion of a round, a red hooded figure will present you with three rings to select from that act as permanent upgrades. Blessed be the Chamber gameplay involves rings that offer abilities such as granting 20 gold when your rank increases, an option that restores one health when you throw 30 gold in the fountain, and a ring that has a 20% chance of activating a miracle on the first bullet after a spin. Miracle abilities are particularly powerful because they can block a live bullet from taking your health.  

Once you’ve added a new piece of bling to your collection, you will visit a store containing single-use items to further enhance your probability of survival. Examples of items revealed in the Blessed be the Chamber game so far include one that reopens the gun once loaded, allowing you to see the order of the bullets, while another skips the next chamber of the gun entirely. You can only have three single-use items in your loadout at once. Generally, the more expensive the item, the more powerful it is, so spend and use wisely.

To beat the Blessed be the Chamber demo, you must complete the sixth and final rank to ascend to the top of the cult.

Who is the developer of Blessed be the Chamber?

The Blessed be the Chamber developer is known as Digital Kingdom, which released another roguelike named Swordship back in 2022. Swordship is an action roguelike all about using dodging as a weapon to trick enemies into destroying each other. Blessed be the Chamber slows down the pace of Digital Kingdom’s next roguelike by focusing on psychological horror.

When is the Blessed be the Chamber release date?

The Blessed be the Chamber release date has not yet been announced. When the game debuts, it will be playable on PC via Steam and Itch.io.

How long is the Blessed be the Chamber demo?

The time it takes to beat the Blessed be the Chamber demo entirely depends on how many times you try and fail at climbing through the ranks and completing rank six. 

Even if you are lucky enough to complete the game on your first run, there are enough Blessed be the Chamber gameplay elements to warrant more playthroughs. Most notably, there are 11 unlockable rings that can only be obtained by racking up enough coins to make permanent unlocks at the start of a new run. The most expensive permanent unlock costs 200 coins and unleashes three new health rings to experiment with.
