What is Always Bet on Quack?

The Always Bet on Quack game is a free-to-play multiplayer casino experience where everyone gambles as ducks using chips. Set in the Monte Quacko casino, you will play well-known gambling games, but with a feathery twist. 

The casino is expected to contain various games, but three have been revealed to be ready at launch. Firstly, there’s Quackette, which plays similarly to classic roulette but with a rather noisy twist. As the ball spins around the playing area, participants can take advantage of the fact that they’re a duck and quack to nudge the ball, making it bounce across the wheel. 

At the beginning of each round, the dealer will quack a random number of times to select the values on the wheel that will become Lucky Squares. If the ball hits a Lucky Square, everyone’s bets remain active for a second spin with a multiplier that’s also affected by every player’s aim. This form of Always Bet on Quack gambling is as chaotic as it sounds and just as unpredictable as roulette without ducks.

Always Bet on Quack gameplay involves Quackjack. You guessed it, it’s blackjack, but with quirks that can help you get the upper hand over the house. If it’s just you and the dealer, a quick draw duel triggers whenever the dealer shows a blackjack. Come out on top, and you’ll knock one of their winning cards off the table. 

With multiple ducks at the table, you can get involved in other players’ doubles and splits to manipulate hands. Every table has a shared progress bar that fills as the collective room wins against the house. Max out the shared progress bar, and all doubles and splits become free for a limited time. However, every hand that’s lost from that point onwards depletes the bar, while failed doubles and splits drain it faster.

In addition, Always Bet on Quack features slot machines, each with its own theme, bonus effects, and of course, duck-themed symbols. Slots the developers have given a glimpse at so far are Lucky Scales, which has a grand prize of $10,000, and Frozen Slopes, with a grand prize of a whopping $300,000.

Always Bet on Quack gameplay will be split into seasons, and seasonal player cards track your season winnings, going on to upgrade your tier and unlock perks such as higher bet limits. Seasonal player cards will reset at the beginning of a new season.

How are chips earned in Always Bet on Quack?

According to the Always Bet on Quack developer, the game won’t have microtransactions to refill your chips if you lose them all. Instead, you will earn chips by working covert construction jobs either solo or in teams of four. 

The jobs revealed to be in the Always Bet on Quack game so far are Jackhammer Jumble, Foreman Says, Road Work Chaos, Flow Control, Mix Master Quack, and Hammer Time. The jobs, also known as mini-games, will primarily test your reflexes and teamwork, bringing a skill-based layer to acquiring chips. 

Jackhammer Jumble will see your duck use a jackhammer to destroy as much pavement as possible, while Foreman Says shares similarities with Simon Says, as ducks must follow instructions delivered by the boss exactly right or be at risk of being eliminated. Road Work Chaos is a highway construction job, where you must dodge speeding traffic and obstacles to deliver equipment, and Flow Control puts each duck in charge of a plumbing line, but no one can see anyone else’s setup, meaning all players must communicate with one another to connect the line.

Upon successful completion of your jobs, you will be taken back to the casino to spend your earnings, because what else would a duck do to pass the time? While you’re earning chips through the Always Bet on Quack gambling mechanics, you can use chips to buy outfits, hats, feather patterns, and visual effects to give your duck a little flair.

Who is the developer of Always Bet on Quack?

The Always Bet on Quack developer is Dogwood Gaming, made in collaboration with students at Bristol Community College in Fall River, Massachusetts. The purpose of the project is to teach the next generation of game developers the skills they need, all while contributing to a live game.

When will Always Bet on Quack be released?

The Always Bet on Quack release date has yet to be announced, but it will be available on PC via Steam at launch. The game is expected to receive two to three major updates per year, and supporter packs will accompany each major content release. Supporter packs contain cosmetics and are a paid way to support the game if you wish to do so.
